Remember those cool commercials from last year promoting the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch as the realization of all of our sci-fi fantasies? Well, that is apparently "so 2013". The first commercial for the new Tizen-powered Samsung Gear S smartwatch just goes straight to the features of the devices. The 30 second ad shows a man using his Gear S to get directions, answer emails and other activities that can be done on any smartphone. There's definitely no "wow" factor involved with this smartwatch ad, even though it has a cool 2-inch curved display and can work without a smartphone.
