The Smithsonian revealed on Thursday a redesign plan that it hopes to complete over the next 20 years. The plan totally re-envisions the south side of the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to the tune of about $2 billion.
Created by the Bjarke Ingels Group, the design focuses on developing more welcoming entrances, improving the areas between the mall's museums and refurbishing the Smithsonian Institution Building (also known as the Castle).
