If your morning doesn't often start with a bowl of sugar-laden cereal, you may not be American. In fact, cereal — grains eaten hot (porridge) or cold, often with milk, yogurt or fruit and other sweeteners like brown sugar and maple syrup — is found in 90% of USA homes. While many Americans eat cereal in the form of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, oatmeal (porridge made from boiled oats) and grits (porridge made from ground corn) also make regular appearances on Americans' breakfast tables.
