In a recently published Bandai Namco earnings report the Gundam franchise has done very well indeed; topping their revenue forecasts at $600 million (70 billion yen), down from $687 million (80.2 billion yen) the previous year.
Now this is for all Gundam properties, not just games. Though those have performed decently as well, with titles like Gundam Extreme Versus Maxi Boost (shown above) seeing great success in the arcades in Japan. In addition to Gundam, Level 5’s Youkai Watch has also been doing well (projected at $343 million or 40 billion yen for the year). With 3DS game sales being very strong, not to mention all the toys that go along with that. The slight dip across overall previous franchise earnings seems to have been countered by Youkai Watch’s recent runaway success.
