Reality television singing competition The Voice became a worldwide sensation after NBC picked up the show for its spring TV season in 2011, but it is in Brazil that the show has attracted the biggest audience so far.
According to Veja, Brazil’s leading weekly news magazine, The Voice Brasil was watched by 24 million viewers in its episode last Thursday, a 50% share of total viewers. That’s exactly twice the audience garnered by the show in the U.S.
