Since Mel Gibson hasn't gained much traction on a comeback as far as his acting career is concerned (Machete Kills and The Expendables 3 were fun, but didn't make waves), it looks like he's going to try the directing door again instead. THR reports Gibson is currently in talks to direct Hacksaw Ridge, a World War II drama that tells the true story of Private First Class Desmond T. Doss, who won the Congressional Medal of Honor. What makes this all the more interesting is that Doss was drafted into the military in 1942 for the war, but he refused to bear arms on religious ground, and still ended up being a war hero. Read on!
