San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers threw for 291 yards in Sunday's 27-24 win over the St. Louis Rams to become the 22nd player with 35,000 or more career passing yards, per pro-football-reference.com.
He entered Sunday's contest as all but a sure thing to reach the mark, sitting just 87 yards away from 35,000, with 34,913 for his career.
However, the 32-year-old quarterback didn't exactly come out of the gates sprinting, as he finished the first quarter with just 24 passing yards and then threw a pick-six to Rams cornerback Janoris Jenkins early in the second quarter.
