The “X-Men” film franchise is alive and well, revitalized after the time-bending, continuity-altering “Days of Future Past.” Up next on the docket is “X-Men: Apocalypse,” continuing the story of the younger versions of Charles Xavier, Mystique and Magneto — and bringing in fan-favorite mutants Cyclops and Jean Grey, to boot. But don’t expect to see James Marsden and Famke Janssen reprise their roles as Scott Summers and Jean Grey, unfortunately. Early casting rumors have younger actors — folks like Chloe Grace Moretz and Elle Fanning, for example — circling the “Apocalypse” casting pool. In other words, the “X-Men” series is shifting gears and turning its attention toward new actors for beloved characters.
