Many were skeptical when Rise of the Planet of the Apes was announced as the first installment of a hopeful prequel franchise to precede the 1968 classic film and the sequels that followed. Thankfully, Rupert Wyatt delivered a solid start to the film, heightened by incredible special effects and motion capture performances by Andy Serkis and others under his tutelage.
