The Boston Online Film Critics Association has selected an unconventional choice for the best picture of 2014.
The critics group named Snowpiercer as the top film of the year on Saturday, with Birdman director Alejandro G. Inarritu honored as the year's best director. Last year, the group chose 12 Years a Slave as the best film, which went on to win the Oscar for best picture.
