Before disbanding in 1999, the grunge supergroup Mad Season included members of Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Screaming Trees -- and now they'll get some help from Soundgarden and Guns N' Roses alumni.
During a performance next month with the Seattle Symphony, Chris Cornell will fill in for the late Layne Staley as frontman and GN'R's Duff McKagan will take over on bass from late Walkabouts bassist John Baker Saunders. Staley died in 2002, while Saunders died in 1999, leading to Mad Season's dissolution that year. Pearl Jam's Mike McCready and Screaming Trees' Barrett Martin, the sole surviving members, will round out the lineup for the Sonic Evolution performance on Jan. 30.
