The opportunity was offered by the meeting of the international board of directors’ of the Expo Milano 2015 project - developed in collaboration with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Fondazione Mondadori - where, for the first time, female culture has been put in the spotlight of a universal exposition. An announcement at the end of the meeting, which saw the presence of the Honorary President Emma Bonino and the Executive President, Marta Dassù, introduced the creation of a Women for Expo Alliance, a new global alliance of women to fight food waste and to strengthen the role of women in agriculture, a theme which Expo Milano 2015 will focus on during the week 29th June/9th July dedicated to women across the globe.
