Watch Deer Tick And Sharon Van Etten Cover Lou Reed In Brooklyn — stereogum.com

Dec 29th '14 by Peter Helman @ 2:50pm2 Comments Providence roots-rockers Deer Tick are celebrating their 10th anniversary with a six-day residency at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl, where they’re sporting yellow bowling shirts and covering a different classic album each night, culminating in a New Year’s Eve set of fan-requested songs. After starting things off with NRBQ’s Tiddlywinks, Deer Tick took on Lou Reed’s Bowie-produced solo opus Transformer with some assistance from several talented friends. The great Sharon Van Etten lent her heart-meets-sleeve vocals to a pretty faithful cover of “Perfect Day,” and Titus Andronicus frontman Patrick Stickles joined in for “I’m So Free.” Watch fan-recorded footage of “Perfect Day” below, along with some videos of Deer Tick covering Meet the Beatles! with Tommy Stinson on Sunday night and some assorted Instagrams from BrooklynVegan.
