Famed Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar announced in an interview with the Financial Times that he is making a “return to the cinema of women” with his next film, titled Silencio. Almodóvar explained that the film is titled Silencio—the Spanish word for “silence”—”because that’s the principal element that drives the worst things that happen to the main female protagonist.” While the director’s last release was I’m So Excited! a comedy set on an airplane, which was not particularly well-received, he described Silencio as “a hard-hitting drama.”
