Things have been relatively quiet on the Nicolas Winding Refn front since the release of his crime-thriller Only God Forgives, but back in November it was announced the Drive director would be making a horror film called The Neon Demon. That looks like it’s moving forward with TheWrap reporting that Elle Fanning is in talks for the lead.
Co-written by Mary Laws, the film being funded by Gaumont and Wild Bunch is a female-driven horror film that Refn will co-produce with Lena Borglum with plans to start filming in March. According to the story, Fanning will play an aspiring model “caught in a world of beauty and demise.”
