The cover story for next week’s WSJ. magazine has dropped, and it’s a lengthy profile of Dasha Zhukova and Rem Koolhaas ahead of their latest project: a new home for Zhukova’s Garage Museum of Contemporary Art.
Garage is named for its original home, a former bus depot and the new building will keep it near its current temporary space in Moscow’s Gorky Park. According to the story it is “a Soviet relic called Vremena Goda. The name means ‘seasons of the year,’ and it opened in 1968 as a model restaurant for the working masses.” It will feature a floor space of 58,000 square feet and open this June with a solo exhibition by Rirkrit Tiravanija.
