Alchemy is getting into the beer business.
The indie distributor has acquired the rights to Kidnapping Mr. Heineken, Informant Media's thriller based on the true story of brewing magnate Alfred Heineken's kidnapping.
Daniel Alfredson, who helmed the final two installments of the Swedish Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, directed the film. It stars Anthony Hopkins in the title role as the grandson of the founder of the Heineken brewery who was kidnapped in 1983 and released only after a ransom of 35 million Dutch guilders was paid, the largest ransom ever at the time.
