Apple may have generated $10 billion of revenue for developers, but that’s not going to stop Cupertino build on success and open up new avenues in the App Store. The introduction of a ‘Kids’ section in the App Store is one such innovation.
This new section, available from the sidebar and drop-down menus in the store, follows a number of changes that have aided its introduction. The first is the change to app labels. After strong lobbying from the EU, Apple followed the other major app stores and removed the word ‘Free’ from the download button of apps that are free to download initially but have in-app payments as part of the code (in essence every freemium product out there).
