Video-sharing website Dailymotion announced on Wednesday that it's entering the game-streaming market, going head-to-head against industry leader Twitch in the process.
Dailymotion Games will focus on the electronic-sports community, with "a custom-built environment for viewing, sharing, uploading and streaming personal gaming and gaming competitions," the company said on its website.
"Dailymotion Games is entirely dedicated to eSports fans and streamers who come together every evening to form an amazingly talented and gregarious community. Over the coming months, we will significantly increase our investment in the eSport domain to ensure worldwide recognition of all our talented content producers," Dailymotion COO Martin Rogard said in a statement, adding that the network streamed its first StarCraft 2 tournament in 2011.
