Ticket sales for French films abroad more than doubled last year, much of it on the back of Luc Beson's juggernaut Lucy, the country’s biggest international hit in 20 years. French film exports jumped 119 percent from 2013, according to film promotion body UniFrance — a box office total of $699 million (€604 million) and 111 million tickets sold worldwide — making it the country's second-best export year since 2012’s The Intouchables scored big, kicking French film ticket sales to an all-time high of 144 million worldwide.
