U.K. sales, finance and postproduction banner Goldcrest Films has taken international sales rights on Roland Emmerich's gay-rights drama Stonewall and will start offering it to buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin. The company confirmed the deal, earlier reported by Screen, on Monday.
The film, which is a departure for the director of such blockbusters as Independence Day, stars Jeremy Irvine, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Ron Perlman. The movie tells the story of the riots of June 1969 after police raided the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village.
