Cortana is coming to Windows 10 — mashable.com

Cortana, Microsoft’s digital voice assistant, is moving from Windows Phone 8.1 to PCs running Windows 10. Microsoft says Cortana is deeply integrated into its new operating system. Leaks last month prematurely “confirmed” Cortana for Windows 10. Microsoft made the news official at its big Windows 10 event in Redmond, Washington. Like on Windows Phone 8.1 devices, Windows 10 users will be able to call up Cortana by clicking its app icon (on the taskbar) or by using voice command (only works on certain phones with the “Lumia denim” update). The latter is especially cool; you can say “Hey Cortana” and immediately start talking to her or asking her questions. The hands-free Cortana is similar to Motorola’s Moto Voice feature on the Moto X, which lets you say “Hey Moto X” to activate Google Now.
