In Everly, directed by Joe Lynch, Salma Hayek‘s title character must defend herself from deadly waves of assassins sent by her ex, a dangerous mob boss. (This is what happens when you don’t listen to your friends saying, “I’m not sure he’s a great guy for you, though”). The film’s synopsis defines Everly as “down-on-her-luck,” which about sums up her never-ending-assassin predicament. Then again, she does get to work from home — the entire film takes place in one apartment.
