Discovery Communications has set a global telecast of the Holocaust documentary “One Day in Auschwitz” in more than 220 countries on Jan. 25 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp.
The telecast is being done in partnership with the USC Shoah Foundation in connection with International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
The film follows Polish-English Holocaust survivor Kitty Hart-Moxon as she returns to Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, where she and her mother spent two years as prisoners in World War II, 70 years after her liberation. The same day as the documentary’s global broadcast, Discovery will air Steven Spielberg’s epic “Schindler’s List” in the U.K., Australia, New Zealand and Africa as well as on American Heroes Channel in the United States without commercial interruption.
