In an effort to prevent Sepp Blatter from serving his fifth term as FIFA Presdient, a number of prominent figures have thrown their proverbial hats into the ring. Earlier in January, we learned that David Ginola intended to apply for the most powerful job in football. However, his campaign has been stunted by a lack of support from FIFA member nations, some underwhelming attempts at fundraising and the fact that his bid is being backed by an Irish bookmaker—Gabriele Marcotti of ESPN notes that FIFA rules prevent links to gambling.
