Alchemy has released the first trailer for Madame Bovary, Sophie Barthes (Cold Souls) adaptation of Gustave Flaubert‘s revered 19th Century classic of the same name.  The story follows Emma Bovary, a country girl who dreams of romance and excitement only to find herself stifled by her patriarchal era.  When Emma finally marries into the fine life she’s always dreamed of  she finds herself feeling trapped and takes solace in other men.  Mia Wasikowska leads yet another literary classic as Emma, following her work in adaptations of Jane Eyre, The Double, and Alice in Wonderland.
