I’d like to say this recipe came about because I’m always pressed for time.
The truth is, I am afraid of yeast dough. Yes, really. I work in food and bake constantly, yet dealing with from-scratch dough eludes me. However ridiculous that may be, and despite past practice, I still sigh audibly anytime I peruse an enticing cinnamon roll recipe because, well, it’s just not getting made.
