Glenn Lowry and Anne Pasternak Sound Off on Charlie Hebdo on NPR — artnews.com

This morning’s Brian Lehrer show on New York’s NPR affiliate WNYC featured Museum of Modern Art Director Glenn Lowry and Creative Time President and Artistic Director Anne Pasternak ahead of MoMA’s panel on “Charlie Hebdo, [MoMA PS1 show] Zero Tolerance, and Freedom of Speech.” It’s worth a listen if you can’t wait for/attend the sold-out show tomorrow. Lehrer points out that many of his listeners found the artists and writers of Charlie Hebdo as intolerant as the Muslims who murdered them, which, okay, if you say so, listeners. But Lowry says he, Pasternak, and PS1 Director Klaus Biesenbach were conflicted on that point too. “There are a lot of these issues where you feel the right of people to say what they want to say,” he says, “and your skin sometimes crawls because of what they say.”
