My Twitter app lit up with a direct message alert and I stopped what I was doing to check it. I consider DMs important. They’re private messages between people who follow each other, something akin to a 20th century phone call.
This DM was, however, different. It was from actor and Twitter gadfly William Shatner. He was initiating a Twitter Group DM.
