Game Informer took note of the patch update from over on Ubisoft's official forum for Far Cry 4, where community manager Megan-Alyse O'Malley rolled out the details of the patch and some of the new additions to the game, such as the IGE co-op mode.
Sony wanted to waive fees for the patch and concept certification to help more developers get their titles up and out there a lot easier. This move also created the rather unwelcome effect of some games launching broken in order to meet their release date and then publishers having developers push out day-one patches to address the issues or have patches arrive shortly after launch before too many complaints file in.
