Baz Luhrmann, king of sprawling epics and lavish productions, is scaling it back a bit for TV.
Netflix on Thursday announced it has picked up 13 episodes of musical drama, titled The Get Down, from the Moulin Rouge! director, set to debut in 2016.
The story follows a group of ragtag teens from the South Bronx in 1970s New York City and explores the rise of hip-hop, punk and disco during one of the most turbulent times in the Big Apple's history.
