In many ways, the Pittsburgh Pirates are making out like bandits right now.
Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Saturday that second baseman Neil Walker lost his arbitration case against the Pirates.
Instead of being paid the $9 million he requested, arbitrators ruled that Walker would be paid $8 million. Not a bad day at the office.
However, with the amount of production Walker has put out over the last few seasons, the 29-year-old Pittsburgh native deserves a bigger cut of the pie.
