Ever wondered how the signalling system on the underground works (no snide “rarely” comments, thanks), or how Emergency Response Teams deal with incidents on the capital’s transport system? London Transport Museum will be answering these questions and revealing more secrets at Acton depot’s Hidden London Treasures weekend.
Londonist’s very own editor-at-large, Matt Brown, will be talking about secret tunnels and disused stations on the Underground, and there’ll be demonstrations of how Emergency Response Teams deal with emergencies and keep the system moving. Visitors can also ride on heritage buses or a miniature railway and see London transport archive footage and a collection of scale models of underground stations.
