The Academy is no stranger to snubs, but really, even during the "In Memoriam" tribute?
Joan Rivers was not mentioned during Sunday's Oscars' tribute to those who have died this year. The comedian and actress died on Sept. 4, 2014 from complications from surgery.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences might have a legit defense in that it only traditionally honors members of the Academy — Mashable contacted the Academy to see whether Rivers is a member, as the list is not public — but they could've made an exception for Rivers, who appeared in 31 movies and pioneered red carpet reporting, including the "Who are you wearing?" question.
