Despite The Lego Movie's unforgivable Academy Award snub, Tegan & Sara and The Lonely Island still appeared at the 2015 Oscars to perform the movie's theme song, "Everything Is Awesome!!!" Nominated for best original song this year, "Everything Is Awesome!!!" is simultaneously a celebration and satire of mindless pop culture. It was easily the awards show's weirdest musical performance, even more than Neil Patrick Harris' opener. In addition to Tegan & Sara, Will Arnett as Batman (dressed Batman Forever style) and Questlove showed up, Oprah was handed a Lego Oscar statue, and Devo maestro Mark Mothersbaugh -- who produced the song -- popped up in a Lego Devo hat for a split second.
