For designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s fall show, a fashionable ode to iconic mothers and their children, it was a fitting reference. After all, it’s easy to imagine the glamorous women that inspire them—Monica Bellucci, Isabella Rossellini, Jackie O, Angelina Jolie, Raquel Welch (all of whom were pictured on a nearby mood board)—slipping one of the pretty accessories into their hair before heading out for the night. Still, modern moms may be more likely to obsess over another kind of accessory spotted backstage: Sitting in neat rows awaiting their turn on the runway, the fashion house’s flashing jewel-encrusted headphones were plugged into matching iPhones, offering an unexpectedly winning (and practical!) fix to a bad hair day.
