Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds have scored the fastest-selling artist album of the U.K. chart year to date with Chasing Yesterday (Sour Mash). It entered at No. 1 on the new survey yesterday (March 8) with combined sales of 89,000. Years & Years went straight to No. 1 on the singles chart with their electro-dance track "King" (Polydor/Universal).
The former Oasis songwriter's previous album with his current band, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, also debuted at the top in October 2011, spending exactly a year on the top 75. It re-charted last month, and climbs 55-41 in the new countdown. The new album's total streams last week represented an adjusted tally of 1,700 sales.
