Walt Disney World's four theme parks draw most of the resort's attention and crowds. But the sprawling campus offers a host of things to do and see outside of the parks. Once you've raced around the universe aboard Space Mountain and had an audience with the Frozen gang, here are some other activities to consider exploring on your next visit to Mickey's Florida hangout.
Disney World hosts the country's two most popular (and two of its best) water parks. Blizzard Beach boasts a hilarious back story about a ski resort that melted. Among its highlights, you could take a chairlift to the top of Mount Gushmore and tear down Summit Plummet, one of the world's tallest, steepest, and fastest water slides (if you dare). Typhoon Lagoon has a lovely tropical vibe and features the Crush 'n' Gusher uphill water coaster, the Shark Reef snorkeling experience, and an enormous wave pool. On select days, Typhoon Lagoon offers early-morning surf lessons in the wave pool.
