Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are scheduled to compete in the Champion Golfers’ Challenge on the eve of The Open Championship at St. Andrews in July.

Participants will play St. Andrews’ 1st, 2nd, 17th and 18th holes in groups of three or four. The best individual score on each hole will be the team’s score. Teams will compete for a £50,000 prize for charity. Tom Watson and Peter Thomson will celebrate milestones at the Challenge. Thomson will mark the 60th anniversary of his win in the 1955 Open at St Andrews, while Watson will be playing on the 40th anniversary of his win in his Open debut in 1975 at Carnoustie.
