Roadside Attractions and Miramax will release Bill Condon's Mr. Holmes, starring Ian McKellen, Laura Linney and Milo Parker, on July 17, 2015. Mr. Holmes reteams Condon and McKellen, who worked together on the Oscar winner Gods and Monsters. The British film, previously titled A Slight Trick of the Mind, is a new take on the iconic detective and bowed in Berlin to warm reviews. Set in 1947, an aging Holmes returns from a journey to Japan, where, in search of a rare plant with powerful restorative qualities, he saw firsthand the devastation of nuclear warfare.
