Polish photographer Artur Urbanski’s Live View project poses a question many of us ask ourselves, particularly since the rise of the phone camera: “Why do we feel it necessary to record and preserve a fleeting moment of beauty rather than live in that moment?” And we often take a snapshot of a scene that’s been reproduced thousands of times before. It’s a big question, and forms part of a big photography festival. The seventh edition of the Format International Photography Festival offers a programme of exhibitions, events and interactive projects at Derby’s QUAD gallery until 12 April.
