Nina Dobrev isn't a big fan of selfies. But she's an actress — sometimes she has to take them for work. Such was the case last night, at the opening night party for her horror-comedy The Final Girls, which premiered at South By Southwest film festival. "I hate taking selfies," she told Cosmopolitan (a co-host for the evening). "It's the bane of my existence. I like taking photos of other people!"
It's Friday the 13th, an appropriate date for the premiere of her new movie, in which she stars as Vicki, the bitchy ex-best friend of Max (played by Taissa Farmiga). They're part of a group of friends that gets trapped in a campy '80s horror movie starring Max's deceased actress mother, Amanda (Malin Akerman), and must defeat the Jason Voorhees-esque villain to return to their world. Despite the inauspicious premiere date, Dobrev hasn't experienced too much bad luck so far — just a dress-steaming mishap. "I didn't notice I turned the steamer on," she said. "I went to do other things and then all of a sudden the alarm went off and I realized the steamer was pointing in the direction of the fire alarm. For about 20 minutes, it was a really loud, panicky, hectic environment in my room. Other than that? Today is a special day because it's my brother's birthday."
