The fur is flying between titans of the fashion world and an angry cast of celebrities led by Sir Elton John following a row over synthetic children and gay adoption. The fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana provoked a storm of condemnation when they suggested that gay adoption was unnatural and that those born through IVF were “synthetic children”. When Sir Elton, the parent of two children born through IVF, called for a boycott of the fashion brand, Gabbana retorted that the singer was a “fascist”.
