Halestorm's "Apocalyptic" conquers the Mainstream Rock Songs chart (rising 2-1), making the Lzzy Hale-fronted band just the fourth female-led act to score two No. 1s at the format (joining the Chrissie Hynde-fronted Pretenders, soloist Stevie Nicks and, most recently, Pretty Reckless). "Apocalyptic" was up 7 percent in plays on the chart in the week ending March 15 according to Nielsen Music.
Halestorm and Pretty Reckless are the only two acts with a female vocalist to lead the male-dominated format since 1990 (when Alannah Myles' "Black Velvet" topped the chart), notching four No. 1 songs between them since 2013.
