It’s been a matter of weeks since Peter Dundas departed from Emilio Pucci, and news of his move to Roberto Cavalli was made official today. It will be something of a career full-circle for fashion’s favorite Norwegian-American champion of hot-and-sexy good-time clothes. He’ll only need to travel a few miles across Florence from the print house founded by Emilio Pucci to the fashion print house set up by Roberto Cavalli, and he won’t be in any need of an induction course. Dundas was the behind-the-scenes designer when Roberto Cavalli relaunched his no-holds-barred brand of exuberant rock-chick deluxe style to rocketing visibility between 2002 and 2005. (Incidentally, he nurtured a very young studio designer named Olivier Rousteing, who is unmissably carrying on in his own hot way at Balmain now.) After an interlude at Emanuel Ungaro and a stint with Revillon, Dundas signed on at Emilio Pucci nearly seven years ago. Will he be leading his girl-friends Pied Piper–like from house to house?
