nestled on a hillside in the port town of bodrum, turkey, the brand new mandarin oriental resort has opened, the first of its kind in europe by the high-end hotel group. designed by scape design associates, the london-based landscape architects is responsible for reshaping the 60 hectare site situated on the northern side of the peninsula. the luxurious retreat features numerous leisure facilities, restaurants, spas and 109 deluxe guest rooms and suites, all of which is framed by the surrounding scenic landscape and shoreline. working alongside the existing topography, which is already home to olive groves and a pine forest, the practice has weaved its surroundings to the buildings and each villa, creating an individual landscape story to each area of the resort.
