Toronto FC’s first MLS Cup playoffs trip brings them to a familiar place.
Days ago the Reds battled the Montreal Impact at Stade Saputo in the regular season finale for both clubs. Jozy Altidore gave TFC the lead before halftime, but two quick goals by Didier Drogba, MLS’ October player of the month, powered Mauro Biello’s side to a 2-1 win.
The loss meant the Reds would open these 2015 playoffs on the road, but there was a silver lining. They know what to expect on Thursday night, having played in very similar conditions just days before. The Reds consider Sunday’s loss a dress rehearsal. Thursday night the real thing goes down in Montreal. It’s the biggest game in club history.
