I want to visit Turkey, everybody says it's a wonderful place! Any tips?

Hello! it's been 2 months since I checked my account, so I just saw this message. There are lots to do & see in Turkey. What do you have in mind? Just İstanbul or the northern and southern parts? Istanbul first of all. Then historical sites and wonderful beaches... And I've heard that Turkish cuisine is very special. Any tip would be welcome. Thx!
