On Tuesday October 11, we’ll be celebrating the Day of the Girl: a day set aside by the United Nations since 2011, to discuss and take action to advance girls’ right to education. A UNESCO study on gender parity in education highlights that in the world today, “one out of eight children between the ages of 6 and 15 are denied a basic education, and girls are the first to be excluded.” More than 63 million girls are currently out of school.
