People use fabric softener to help loosen tangles or deal with static, but it’s not a necessity in detangling. After detangling, if it is a heat-resistant wig I like to run a hair straightener over the sections and hold them straight as they cool. This removes the crimps that might come from tangles and just makes it easier to deal with. If it’s a curly wig, I’ll straighten and then re-curl.
